The membership secretary ensures all memberships are managed and ensure relevant qualifications are held and maintained. After the storms in 2015 the club was going to close – but at that point I took on the Chair position along with a number of others who built a committee to re-establish the club for the village. In time I passed the Chair position onto Simon. It is amazing to see the club and young people grow and build relationships with our surrounding clubs as well as the wider Surf Lifesaving community. As an adult volunteer there are also the health benefits of keeping fit to maintain my Lifeguard and Coaching qualifications.
